Conference 2016

This conference is over! Material here is for archiving purposes.

Looking Forward, Moving On

Friday, September 30 & Saturday, October 1, 2016

A two day conference for people with aphasia, their families, and the professionals who serve them.
There’s no other conference like this one!

Professionals: Learn how to counsel and motivate your clients in the “in-between” moments – those short, powerful exchanges at the beginning and end of sessions, and between tasks. You’ll learn counseling techniques from the one who wrote the book on counseling – Dr. Audrey Holland! Also, get an introduction to the evidence-based practice of Motivational Interviewing, and a Train-the-Trainer course on family education! Click here for the professional track program details.

Consumers: It’s time to stop looking back – look forward! Our inspiring speakers will help you identify new goals. You will learn techniques to help keep yourself motivated. Click here for the consumer track program details.

At no other conference will professionals and consumers sit down around shared tables and participate in guided conversations about goals, staying motivated, and being positive.
